High performing Iowa pharmacies are now identifiable by patients across the state.
Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services Networks USA (CPESN), the network of community-based pharmacy networks across America, announced that it has added the CPESN-Iowa network of pharmacies to its growing number of local pharmacies that provide high quality, patient-centered enhanced services.
Patients in Iowa can now find any of the 80 high-performing, community-based pharmacies in CPESN-Iowa by using the pharmacy locator application on CPESN.com.
“While we've accomplished a lot, there is much more to do,” offered Matt Osterhaus, FAPhA, FASCP, CPESN-Iowa Luminary. “We are proud of our efforts in organizing and fostering the role of community-based pharmacies to improve the health of communities in Iowa and pleased to being one of the trailblazing CPESN groups.”
“More importantly,” Osterhaus continued “We are looking forward to working with health insurance companies and self-insured employers across the state of Iowa because they now have an option to improve the health of their members and/or employees as well as reduce their overall health care expenses.”
The CPESN-Iowa network officially launched this past summer with 80 pharmacies signing the participation agreement. This past weekend, the CPESN-Iowa Luminaries provided updates to their 80 members including the formation of the network into a limited liability corporation, discussions with payers and other key stakeholders, creation of marketing materials, and implementation of quality assurance and site development (including site visits) processes. The meeting was held at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
“It is an exciting time in the growth of CPESN,” said Ashley Branham, PharmD, Director of Marketing and Network Development with CPESN USA. “Local CPESN networks are taking shape across the country and the momentum and enthusiasm around CPESN USA continues to build. The CPESN-Iowa is a shining example of pharmacies that are focused on providing high quality enhanced services to their patients.”
